To this end we are seeking an experienced communications professional to lead a team of communications professionals in developing and driving Nokia's message to external media audiences and internal stakeholders in the United Kingdom.
As a member of Nokia's global Media Relations practice and the UK country management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving Nokia's global messaging platform with internationally influential media outlets based in the United Kingdom & Ireland. The successful candidate will play a contributing role in developing global media relations strategies in line with the rapidly evolving global media landscape. The role includes responsibility for UK country communications, overseeing a team of communications professionals responsible for external communications and internal communications to more than 3,000 employees in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
To succeed in this role, you'll need a solid understanding of both the traditional and social media landscape, and a successful track record in creating and delivering innovative, cut-through communications strategies on a global scale. A strong network of UK-based media is a plus.
As a member of the global media relations team, you will be called upon to serve as a corporate spokesperson on a range of topics and issues. The ability to think on your feet, pitching stories and fielding media queries, is a must. In this role, we are also looking for a dynamic and inspirational leader who will dedicate time and energy in coaching a small team of professionals to reach their maximum potential.
You will act as a strategic consultant to the Local Sales Unit management and be actively involved in day-to-day communications operations. Nokia has staff across five main sites in the UK including Southwood, where the Local Sales Unit management is based.
You will have rolling activity planning and budget responsibility. Close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, HR, and other internal stakeholders is required as well as with global functions on dedicated projects.
