Administrator
The European Patent Office in Munich is seeking an Administrator for its new Salary Savings Plan (Defined Contributions Plan (DC)) in Directorate Compensation and Benefits / Project Office. The department "Remuneration and Social Security" is responsible for the financial, actuarial and contractual aspects of the EPO's social security schemes as well as for the salary method and the pay policy of the EPO.
Main duties
-
Administering the financial,
actuarial and contractual aspects of the new Salary Savings Plan (DC)
to be introduced as from 1 January 2009
-
Liaising with the external provider
who administrates the individual accounts and manages the assets of the
Salary Savings Plan, for all contractual, financial and actuarial
questions related to the scheme

Participating in the activities of the Supervisory Board of the external investment management of the Salary Savings Plan
-
Participating in the development of
tools and interfaces related to the Salary Savings Plan, in cooperation
with other departments and the external provider

Making calculations and drafting
actuarial hypothesis for the actuarial studies which are conducted
periodically to review the different contribution rates of the Salary
Savings Plan and of the Defined Benefits Pension Scheme

Providing advice and reporting to management about the financial situation of the Salary Savings Plan

Working on studies and implementation of changes to the EPO pay and social security system in general

Other tasks within the Department "Remuneration and Social Security" as required
The ideal candidate will have:
- University degree, preferably in actuarial or financial mathematics
- Experience as an actuary with a focus on life insurances, especially in the field of pensions
- Experience in the administration of Defined Contribution pension schemes
- Well organised, systematic and results-oriented approach with the ability to complete tasks under tight deadlines
- Experience in an international environment would be an advantage
- Good communication skills, a team-based approach, and the ability to work on his own responsibility
- Ability to think analytically
- Excellent knowledge of office automation tools, especially spreadsheet calculation and programming
Minimum qualifications:
Diploma
of completed studies at university level or - in exceptional cases -
equivalent professional experience. Excellent knowledge of one official
language, and ability to understand the other two.
The
successful candidate will be selected on the basis of qualifications,
supplemented as appropriate by interviews, tests and/or a psychometric
questionnaire.
