Senior JAVA Developer - Holandia
As a Senior Java Developer within this challenging multi-national and multi-lingual data and user environment you will play a key role in this dynamic and creative international project. Europeana has selected best – of – breed open source technologies for its software stack.

The role:
- As part of the Europeana core development team and in collaboration
with distributed partner development teams you will design, develop and
maintain the Europeana.eu digital library system, with a focus on
programming the backend and search functionalities.
- You will be partnering with business requirement owners to assess
feasibility, specify and scope feature requests and determine technical
specifications.
- Your support of our European partner projects to enhance their software contributions to Europeana development will be critical.
- Integrating components developed by the partner projects whilst
evaluating their suitability and software quality is a key aspect of
this role.
Required skills and experience:
- Ideally you will have a university level education in computer
science or a related field. Alternatively an equivalent combination of
education and experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of software development and integration experience.
- Thorough experience of Java programming in Linux, Apache, Lucene, Solr environments
- An excellent knowledge and overview of modern software architectures and development methodologies
- Excellent written and spoken English
- The ability and desire to work as part of a team
- Demonstrable problem solving ability and a delivery orientated approach
