Senior JAVA Developer - Holandia

The role:

• As part of the Europeana core development team and in collaboration with distributed partner development teams you will design, develop and maintain the Europeana.eu digital library system, with a focus on programming the backend and search functionalities.
• You will be partnering with business requirement owners to assess feasibility, specify and scope feature requests and determine technical specifications.
• Your support of our European partner projects to enhance their software contributions to Europeana development will be critical.
•  Integrating components developed by the partner projects whilst evaluating their suitability and software quality is a key aspect of this role.

Required skills and experience:

• Ideally you will have a university level education in computer science or a related field. Alternatively an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• 5+ years of software development and integration experience.
• Thorough experience of Java programming in Linux, Apache, Lucene, Solr environments
• An excellent knowledge and overview of modern software architectures and development methodologies
• Excellent written and spoken English
• The ability and desire to work as part of a team
• Demonstrable problem solving ability and a delivery orientated approach
